Marston Models started as most adventures did with a beer. A discussion with a professional model maker about if 3d printing was good enough for model making, lead to a bet.
This lead to learning CAD and 3d printing. We can now offer the services below.
We offer products in scales from TT120 to 10 1/4 inch.
Computer Aided design
All our products are designed in house using CAD software. We specialise in model railway parts but also can reverse engineer parts for other applications. Most recently we produced parts for a mixing desk that came out of the legandary Abbey Road studios.
3d printing
We have a range of 3d printers. FDM printer for large parts and resin printers for smaller quality parts. We currently have parts in stock from T scale up to 10 1/4inch.
Laser cutting and etching
We can produce drawings for Laser cut parts in steel and brass and also for etched brass and nickle silver. Photo shows a gauge 3 BR class 08 Chassis. Laser cut 1.5mm steel and 0.7mm etched nickel silver.
Metal Turning.
We have a small lathe in house for turning small metal parts such as buffers and spacers for frames. We have had partners CNC turn wheel rims before.
